Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find out the contribution of hand eye coordination and arm muscle strength to the ability of under basketball shoot to students of Pekanbaru State High School 2 extracurricular basketball. This type of research is correlation. The population in this study were 15 students of extracurricular basketball in SMA Negeri 2 Pekanbaru, while the study sample used total sampling technique. The test instruments used were (1) hand eye coordination test (2) arm muscle strength test with push up (3) under basketball shoot test Data analysis technique used was a correlation test with multiple correlation values. Based on the calculation results, it can be seen that (1) There is a contribution of the hand coordination to the under basketball shoot ability in the basketball extracurricular students of SMA Negeri 2 Pekanbaru amounting to 61.78% with a calculation value = 0.786> 0.514, (2) There is contribution of arm muscle strength towards under basketball shoot ability on basketball extracurricular students in Pekanbaru 2 High School at 30.47% with a calculated value = 0.552> 0.514, (3) There is a contribution of hand eye coordination and arm muscle strength to under basketball shoot ability in high school extracurricular basketball students Negeri 2 Pekanbaru for 64.64% with a calculated value = 0.804> 0.514.
