Abstract

This study aims to describe how the activities are carried out extracurricular at the saman dance art at the 10th Public High School in Bangko Pusako district Rokan Hilir. The research method used in this study is descriptive approach to quality analysis, because the author does not. Data collection through observation, interviews and documentation. Subjects in this study amounting to 11 people consisting of 1 supervisor and 10 member students extracurricular saman dance at Bangko Pusako 10 Middle School in Rokan Hilir Regency, the place of research took place at Bangko Pusako 10 Middle School on the road Lintas Riau - North Sumatra Bangko Permata Km 04. The theory used in research this is Suryosubroto (2009: 148). Data analysis techniques used in this research is data reduction, display or data presentation, retrieval conclusions are then verified. From the results of the analysis of findings in the next field drawn the conclusion that the material taught in extracurricular activities is saman dance. The method used in extracurricular activities is lecture method, demonstration method (the teacher demonstrates dance movements first first then students practice dance movements), and practice methods. Means and infrastructure used in the implementation of dance extracurricular activities saman at Bangko Pusako 10 Middle School in Rokan Hilir district is one of them classrooms and school fields that are flat and shady for the training process extracurricular activities. Assessment used by junior high school extracurricular coaches Negeri 10 Bangko Pusako is an assessment at each meeting and the end of the process the training is given qualitatively in the form (Very good (A), Good (B), Enough (C), and less (D).
