Abstract

This research was motivated by the lack of students’ learning achievement at senior high school 2 Singingi Hilir. The purpose in this research examined to know the influence of discovery learning method on students’ learning achievement in Islamic education lesson at senior high school 2 Singingi Hilir Kuantan Singingi Regency. This research used correlational quantitative method. The subject in this research was class X students at senior high school 2 Singingi Hilir, Kuantan Singingi regency. The object in this research was the influence of discovery learning method on students’ learning achievement in Islamic education lesson at senior high school 2 Singingi Hilir Kuantan Singingi Regency. The population in this research took 140 students and the sampling by using slovin formula with error margin 5% and the sample took 104 students. Data collection technique used questionnaire and documentation. Based on data analysis, it was known that there was any influence of discovery learning method on students’ learning achievement in Islamic education lesson at senior high school 2 Singingi Hilir. It was known from simple linear regression result with significant score 0.000, and 0.000 was smaller than 0.05. And the hypothesis was accepted. The influence level of discovery learning method on students’ learning achievement in Islamic education lesson in 0.431 or 43.1% and it was in range 0.40 – 0.599 and it was in strong enough criteria. It could be concluded that the influence of discovery learning method on students’ learning achievement in Islamic education lesson at senior high school 2 Singingi Hilir, Kuantan Singingi regency was in “strong enough” category.
