Abstract

Low production results in low household income, low income results in low household expenses household needs have not been met. This study aims to: (1). Knowing the characteristics of pineapple farmers in Sungai Sembilan Kota District Dumai, (2.) Analyze the use of production factors, farm costs, production, farming revenue, farming income and farming efficiency in the District Dumai City Nine River,(3.) Analyze how much income level and household expenditure of pineapple farmers in Sungai Sembilan Kota District Dumai, (4). Analyze what factors affect spending pineapple farmer households in Sungai Sembilan District, Dumai City This research was conducted in Sungai Sembilan District, Dumai City Province Riau. The location of this study was determined purposively wifh consideration that in Sungai Sembilan sub-district most of the residents cultivate pineapple plants, besides that in Sungai District Nine is easily accessible and makes it easier for research to obatain data. This research is calculated for 6 months, starting from December 2021 to May 2022. The samples taken were 74 people. Research results about Characteristics of pineapple farmer respondents in Sungai Sembilan District with an average of 43 years, 9 years of education, 4 family members, 16 years of business experience, and a land area of 2 Ha. Total average expenses pineapple farmer household Rp. 108, 807,351/year. Total average expenses pineapple farmer household Rp. 41,656,785/year. Average consumption expenditure food is Rp.21,579,131/year. Average non-food consumption expenditure of Rp.21,011,338/year. From the results of the estimation of the expenditure model pineapple farmer households in Sungai Sembilan District, Dumai City, Province Riau shows that the factors influencing expenditure significant or (significantly influential) household, namely: number of family members while for income, education, savings, and assets are not significant (non significant effect). Pineapple farmer household expenditure response on income will result in large changes on the household expenditure of pineapple farmers.
