Abstract
Enhanced oil recovery (EOR) defined as a technology done in mature wells that have been through the stages of primary recovery and secondary recovery. One of EOR method is surfactant injection with huff and puff technique. The success of the surfactant injection can be determined by investigating the most dominant parameters in increasing recovery factor (RF). This study aims to determine the most dominant parameters among test parameters that increase the RF oil. The test parameters studied are operating parameters and reservoir parameters including formation permeability, reservoir temperature, concentration of surfactant, injection volume and number or cycle time making. This study uses a combination of fractional factorial design and reservoir simulation. Fractional factorial design will divide into several simulation models that will be run by a CMG / GEM simulator. The RF obtained will be analyzed using Modde 5 statistical analysis software to determine the most dominant parameters in increasing the RF oil in surfactant injection using the huff and puff method in paraffin wells. Based on the results of this study the most dominant parameter in increasing RF is the permeability of the formation gives a positive effect with the smallest P value of 4.73 × 10−7 and the largest coefficient is 1.89 which means that with a permeability value range of 500mD - 1000mD can increase RF oil. the second dominant parameter is the reservoir temperature. Reservoir temperature has a positive effect with P value of 0.01 and coefficient is 0.48 which means that with a range of values of 100 °F - 200 °F can increase RF oil. Then followed by injection volume in the range of 0.03 PV - 0.3 PV with a P value of 0.18 and a coefficient of -0.21 and concentrations in the range 0.1% - 1% with a P value of 0.47 and a coefficient of -0.11. In this study the parameters of soaking time and number of cycles become insignificant parameters.
