Abstract

At the beginning of 2020, the world was shaken by the COVID-19 pandemic, a corona virus that started in Wuhan, China. The emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic has provided various aspects in human life, one of which is the construction sector which is an important component in national economic development (PUPR, 2020). Therefore the need for a new strategy in dealing with the impacts that are considered capable of reducing the productivity of construction work. This study aims to determine the effect of COVID-19 on the productivity of construction work in the Riau region. The research method is qualitative using primary data from the Smart PLS 3.0 software questionnaire. Obtained from data analysis of 32 respondents to construction projects in the Riau region which were carried out during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 - 2021 experienced a decrease in productivity of 64%, each of which was caused by materials of 39.8%, planning and scheduling of 19.4 % and management by 27%. The results of data analysis are based on 11 valid indicators out of 15 indicators with 4 variables.
