Abstract

Broiler chicken farming is a businesses that has very good prospects for development, both on a large and small farm scale. The purpose of this study was to analyze (1) breeder characteristics and business profile (2) production costs, revenue, profits, efficiency, and (3) BEP on broiler farms in Siak Hulu District, Kampar Regency, Riau Province. The method used was survey method. Sampling was taken by census of the broiler chicken farming business in Siak Hulu District as 31 farmers. The analysis data used was descriptive analysis and farming analysis. The results showed that the average broiler breeder in Siak Hulu District had a productive age, high school education level, 5 years farming experience and 5 dependent family members, individual business entity, scale of the people's livestock business, the capital used was own capital. The total cost of production used by farmers are IDR. 168.319.341 per production, fixed cost is IDR. 2.803.351 per production and variable costs IDR. 165.515.990 per production. The average income of broiler breeders is IDR. 194.854.900 per production, the average profit for broiler breeders is IDR. 26.535.559 per production, the RCR of broiler farms is 1.17, its means the business is feasible. BEPunit of 908,57 kg, BEPRp of IDR. 19.777.579, its means that BEP the broiler farm business are Break Event Point.
