Abstract

The variation of temperature changing on aggregate, asphalt, and condensation of asphalt mixture temperature is highly affecting towards the pavement characteristic of layered AC WC Modified. The method used to project the flexible pavement was Marshall Test. The Marshall Test set the parameter of the high temperature of mixing and standard condensation in accordance with Bina Marga 2010 general classification (revision 3). The main purpose of this research is to know how is the effect of temperature changing in the mixing process of aggregate, asphalt and also pavement temperature of layered asphalt concrete wearing course modified by using JBMA – 50 modification towards the Marshall characteristics. This research was using the exact same temperature variation of the aggregate, asphalt, and the same object tested pavement mixture, that were the temperature of 90 °C, 110 °C,130 C, 150 C, 170 C, 190 C, 210 C and also the temperature of aggregate and asphalt mixture were 90 °C,110 °C,130 C, 150 C, 170 C, 190 C, 210 C. According to the Marshall test, from the variation tested temperature of aggregate, asphalt and the object tested pavement, only in the temperature of 150 C the parameter of Marshall Test was fulfilled, where the temperature scale that fulfilled the whole characteristic of Marshal Test of the aggregate, asphalt, and the object tested pavement mixture was between 144 °C - 166 °C. The result of Marshall Test in aggregate and asphalt mixture temperature was 165C meanwhile the temperature of object pavement temperature only varies on the pavement in 150 C and pavement in 170 C when the Marshall Test parameter fulfilled, where the temperature scale of object tested pavement that fulfilled all parameter criteria of Marshall characteristic was in the temperature of 145 °C - 185 °C.
