Abstract

One type of pavement is flexible pavement, because from a technical, economic and pavement comfort point it is very good. This pavement uses asphalt as one of its main components, the asphalt used is oil asphalt and natural asphalt. As a substitute for asphalt oil, Buton / Asbuton Asphalt is one of the alternatives. The asbuton used in this study was the type of Asbuton JBMA 50 using materials from Quary Pangkalan. Asbuton JBMA 50 is semi extraction asphalt which is processed with a composition of 20% asbuton and 80% asphalt oil pen 60/70 plus additive. The purpose of this study was to compare Marshall parameters (Stability, VIM, MQ, VMA, VFB and Flow), Optimum Asphalt Levels (KAO) and determine the ratio of Marshall parameters between Asbuton JBMA 50, Asphalt Oil Pen 60/70 and Asbuton Retona Blend 55 Pen 40 / 55. In this study using methods in accordance with Bina Marga Specifications 2010 (Revised 3). The results can be concluded in this study that the highest Marshall stability is a mixture of Asbuton Retona Blend 55 Pen 40/55 higher than JBMA 50 Asbuton and pen oil asphalt 60/70, Marshall Stability Asbuton Retona Blend 55 pen 40/55 interval obtained from 1,425 Kg up to 1,590 Kg. Marshall Stability JBMA 50 asbuton obtained between 1,219 Kg up to 1,456 Kg while oil asphalt between 825 Kg up to 1,213 Kg Optimum asphalt content / KAO is lower than oil asphalt for JBMA 50 Asbuton the KAO value is 5.7% while for Oil Asphalt value of KAO is 5.8%. The value of KAO Asbuton Retona Blend 55 is 5.9%. So that it can be concluded that the lower the penetration value of asphalt, the more the asphalt mixture becomes stiffer and the air cavity in the mixture gets higher.
