Abstract

This study aims to describe the level of learning anxiety experienced by students in class VIII SMP Negeri 2 Tapung Hilir. The types of student learning difficulties in the number pattern material in class VIII SMP Negeri 2 Tapung Hilir are reviewed from learning anxiety and the factors that cause student learning difficulties in the material number patterns in class VIII SMP Negeri 2 Tapung Hilir in terms of learning anxiety. The sample in this study were 30 students in class VIIIB at SMP Negeri 2 Tapung Hilir for the 2022/2023 academic year. The data collection technique in this study was carried out using a questionnaire technique. Data analysis techniques peritem and indicator. Based on the results of the study it was concluded that the learning anxiety experienced by students in the matter of number patterns was obtained by 15 students with very high anxiety categories, 9 students with high anxiety categories, 3 students with low anxiety categories and 3 students with very low anxiety categories. The types of learning difficulties in terms of learning anxiety are: a) students with very high levels of anxiety have difficulty learning concepts 76.11%, difficulties in using principles 96.67% and difficulties in solving verbal problems 98.33%. b) Students with high levels of anxiety have difficulty in learning concepts 47.22%, difficulties in using principles 90.74%, and difficulties in solving verbal problems 90.74%. c) Students with low anxiety levels have difficulty in learning concepts 36.11%, difficulties in using principles 38.89%, and difficulties in solving verbal problems 100%. d) Students with very low levels of anxiety have difficulty in learning concepts 25%, difficulties in using principles 33.33%, and difficulties in solving verbal problems 58.33%. The factors that cause learning difficulties in terms of learning anxiety are: a) Students with very high levels of anxiety have the factors that cause the highest learning difficulties, namely the community environment 70.83%. b) Students with high levels of anxiety have factors that cause the highest learning difficulties, namely intelligence 69.44% and community environment 69.44%. c) Students with low anxiety levels have the factors that cause the highest learning difficulties, namely motivation 68.75%. d) Students with very low levels of anxiety have the factors that cause the highest learning difficulties, namely motivation 70.83%.
