Abstract

The one night stand phenomenon is a phenomenon of deviant behavior due to lifestyle exposure that develops in the existing social environment, especially among the millennial generation. This phenomenon is very inconsistent with the prevailing social norms because it contains deviant behavior, namely free sex. The purpose of this research is to find out what are the factors that cause a person to get involved and fall into this deviant behavior. So to get answers to this research, researchers used qualitative methods with the type of case study research which is expected to be able to explain in detail and clearly the reality that exists in the one night stand phenomenon. The research location that the researchers took was Pekanbaru City, especially located in one corner of Pekanbaru City, namely on Jalan Sudirman, Pekanbaru City. The choice of location is because Pekanbaru City is one of the cities that prioritizes social norms in it. The conclusion of this study is that there are various factors that influence a person to engage in deviant behavior, these factors come from the environment and lifestyle exposure which are then used as the basis for making a decision to engage in a one night stand relationship. To minimize this deviant behavior, the role of various parties is needed, such as the environment, family, community, and the government of Pekanbaru City.
