Abstract

Currently, child labor is not something new in society, minors are also involved in the world of work. The occurrence of child labor is influenced by various social factors such as poverty, urbanization, socio-culture, education, changes in the production process as well as weak supervision and the lack of institutions for rehabilitation. The involvement of minors in the world of work certainly has an adverse impact, namely the disruption of the education period. Especially children who work in motorcycle repair shops. This research has a main problem: What is the form of Legal Protection for Child Labor in Motorcycle Workshops Based on Law Number 13 of 2003 concerning Employment in Payung Sekaki District, Pekanbaru and What are the Efforts and Solutions in Legal Protection for Child Labor in Motorcycle Workshops Based on Law Number 13 of 2003 concerning Employment in Payung Sekaki District, Pekanbaru. This type of research uses a type of sociological legal research by survey method, namely direct research to respondents, the nature of this research is descriptive analysis, the data source is in the form of primary data and secondary data. The research location was conducted at the Office of Manpower and Transmigration Office of Riau Province and workshops which were used as populations. Data collection tools were obtained through observation and interviews. Research results obtained that a minor may work in accordance with the provisions according to Law Number 13 of 2003 Article 69 paragraph (1). The form of legal protection for minors refers to Article 71 paragraph (2). And the efforts made by the Government against this problem are, when a company or business owner violates it, in the sense that the business owner does not follow the applicable provisions, then the PPNS (Civil Servant Investigator) will process it directly and will not carry out further guidance.
