Abstract

Pelalawan Regency is one of the regions that has gained regional autonomy which has theauthority to take care of its own household affairs, including regarding transportation. To regulate this, the Pelalawan District Government issued a Regional Regulation Number 35 of 2007 concerning Route License Levies explaining that each individual and/ or agency that organizes transportation of people by public transportation must obtain permission from the Regional Head. There have been various methods carried out by the related department to deal with the problem of the route so that there is no morewandering, one of them is controlling. But in reality, the control carried out by the Department of Transportation of Pelalawan Regency is not good or not optimal. The purpose of this study was to find out the Task Implementation of the Pelalawan District Transportation Service in Curbing Inter-City Public Transportation in the District and to find out the obstacles in the Task Implementation of the Pelalawan District Transportation Service in Curbing Inter-City Public Transportation in the District. The type of research in research is included in the type of Descriptive Survey using Quantitative methods. 1. The results of the study show that the Task Implementation of the Pelalawan District Transportation Agency in Curbing InterCity Public Transportation in the District is said to be under-implemented. This can be seen from the monitoring and inspection carried out by the service office, which is still not optimal, these activities are only carried out 3 times a week, besides the weak sanctions given by the service to public transport business owners who violate the rules so as not to deter committing the same violations as well as the lack of a number of officers carrying out their duties so that enforcement was not carried out optimally. Inhibiting Factors in the Task Implementation of the Pelalawan District Transportation Service In Curbing InterCity Public Transportation in the District is the lack of experience possessed by officers on their duties, lack of responsibility from the authorities in carrying out direct control to the location and proposal to provide guidance for those who make mistakes , the lack of initiative possessed by employees leads to less than optimal tasks related to supervision, the low level of human resources possessed and still lack of cooperation among fellow employees in carrying out supervisory duties.
