Abstract
Crimes of decency against children generally cause unrest in society and can also affect the growth process of children because they experience enormous trauma. Cases of decency towards children have always experienced a significant increase lately. One of the cases of decency in which the child is the victim is the crime of incest. The crime of incest in this study is a crime as stated in Law No 35 of 2014 concerning Child Protection in article 76D, namely that everyone is prohibited from committing violence or threats of violence to force a child to have intercourse with him or with another person. The main problem in this research is; what are the factors causing the crime of incest with child victims, and what are the efforts to deal with the crime of incest with child victims The research carried out was an empirical legal research method using observation research or field surveys by direct surveys to the field to collect primary and secondary data obtained from respondents either through questionnaires or interviews to be used as data or information as material in writing this research. Based on the research results, the factor of incest crime is caused by several factors such as economic conditions, mass media factors, educational factors and household harmony factors where economic factors and family harmony are caused by one partner who is busy and unable to carry out his obligations. as a husband and wife while the education factor is low and lack of knowledge regarding the crime of incest decency and countermeasures that can be carried out by conducting legal counseling to the community and imposing criminal sanctions on the appropriate perpetrators.
