Abstract

Soybean production in North Sumatra has decreased which makes soybeans must be developed. This research problem aims to analyze: (1) the characteristics of entrepreneurs and business profiles (2) production processes, production, production costs, income, efficiency and BEP, (3) the added value of tofu agro-industry businesses in Gelanggang Village, Barumun District, Padang Lawas Regency, Sumatra Province. North. The method used in this study was a survey method in Gelanggang Village, Barumun District, Padang Lawas Regency, North Sumatra Province, namely the Tofu agro-industry business Usaha Maju, carried out from February to July 2022. Data analysis was carried out in a descriptive qualitative, quantitative and hayami way. The results of the study show 1) the age of the entrepreneur and the age of the workforce are included in the unproductive age, the education level of the entrepreneur and the workforce is 12 years. 36 years of business experience owned by entrepreneurs and 2 years of workforce. The number of dependents of the entrepreneur's family is 1 person and the dependents of the working family are zero or unmarried. The business scale is classified as a small business, the capital is fully sourced from personal capital, namely IDR 150,000,000.-. 2) The total use of labor is 2 people. The use of raw materials as much as 150 kg / production process. The use of supporting materials is acetic acid, firewood, gasoline and electricity. The use of labor is 1,23 HOK/production process. While the technology used in the tofu agro-industry business uses semi-modern technology, namely using a blower machine to maintain the stability of the fire during the cooking process. The resulting product is 528 kg. Selling price IDR 6,800/kg. The total cost of production in the processing of tofu agro-industry is IDR 2,305,647 / production process. The gross income received by the entrepreneur is IDR 3,590,400/production process and net income of IDR 1,284,753 / production process. The efficiency of the tofu agro-industry business is the Return Cost Ratio of 1.55 and the Total BEP Unit (Kg) is 8.45 kg, the BEP price in rupiah is IDR 4,791. 3) The total added value obtained is IDR 9,898/kg An added value ratio of 41% means that every Rp.100 the output value (tofu) contains an added value of IDR 41.
