Abstract
Kelulut bees are a group of honey bees which can be cultivated. Kelulut honey have good business prospects with a wide market share. This study aims to analyze (1) the characteristics of entrepreneurs and business profiles of kelulut honey, (2) business performance (cultivation techniques, production costs, production, income, business efficiency and BEP of kelulut honey, (3) marketing of kelulut honey bees (marketing institutions, marketing channels, marketing functions, marketing costs, marketing margins, marketing profits, farmer's share, marketing efficiency) in Benteng Hilir Village, Mempura District, Siak Regency. Determination respondens of this research was by census, the number of respondents consisted of 1 entrepreneur and 5 workers. Used data were analyzed descriptively qualitatively and quantitatively.The results showed (1) Entrepreneur's age is 43 years, education level is Bachelor degree, family members are 3 people and business experience is 6 years. Average age of workers is 27 years, education level is SMA, family dependents are 2 people and work experience is 1.6 years. Mr. Joko Paryanto starting a business of kelulut. Honey bee in 2016, then, in 2017 collaborated with PT BKTJ heretofore. This buisness is categorzed as small business scale, personal business capital IDR. 139,000,000 with 5 workers. (2) The kelulut honey bee cultivation technique is in accordance with the theory. Production costs per production process consist of: variable costs IDR 6,235,000, fixed costs IDR 666,666.67 and total production costs IDR 6,901,666.67. Production of kelulut honey is 27 kg/production period, gross income is IDR 12,150,000 and net income is IDR 5,248,333.33. RCR value of 1.76> 1. Product BEP 15.34 kg < production (27 kg) and BEP Rp.255,617.28/kg < selling price (450,000/kg), its means this business is profitable. (3) Marketing institutions for kelulut honey, namely entrepreneurs, collectors, retailers and consumers. There are 2 marketing channels. The Marketing function includes: sales, capital, market information functions (entrepreneurs, wholesaler and retailers), purchasing, storage and transportation functions (collectors and retailers). Total marketing costs for channel I IDR.9,259.26/kg, channel II IDR.20,500/kg. Channel II margin, wholesaler IDR.20,000/kg and retailers IDR.30,000/kg. Profits from marketing channel II, collector traders IDR.4,000/kg and retailers IDR.18,700/kg. Farmer's share on channel I < channel II. The most efficient marketing channel is marketing channel I.
