Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of fruit POC and NPK Grower on the growth and yield of honey gourd plants. The research was carried out in the experimental garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, Islamic University of Riau, Jalan Kaharudin Nasution No. 113, Air Cold Village, Bukit Raya District, Pekanbaru City. The study was conducted for 4 months from February to May 2022 using a factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 2 factors, namely the first factor was the POC of fruits consisting of 4 levels, namely 0, 30, 60 and 90 ml per plant and the factor the second is NPK Grower Fertilizer consisting of 4 levels, namely 0, 5, 10 and 15 grams per plant. Each treatment consisted of 3 replications so that 48 experimental units were obtained. The research parameters observed were: stem diameter, flowering age, number of female flowers, harvest age, number of fruit planted, fruit weight planted and fruit length per fruit. The research data were analyzed statistically and followed by a 5% honest significant difference test (BNJ). The results showed that the interaction of POC fruits significantly affected the parameters of the number of female flowers with an average of 5.50, stem diameter with an average of 17.58 and the highest number of fruits per plant with an average of 4.33. Meanwhile, the main effect of POC Fruits and NPK Grower was significant on all observed parameters, where the POC Fruits treatment of 90 ml per plant and NPK Grower 15 g/plant produced the most fruit with an average of 4.00 fruit and 3.58 fruit, the fastest flower with an average of 27.67 and 27.29 days after planting compared to other treatments.
