Abstract

Students find it difficult to feel truly happy because of various problems both academically and non-academically. The results of previous studies indicate that student happiness is classified as moderate. This shows that happiness is still something that needs to be improved. This study aims to determine whether there is a relationship between religiosity and happiness in students. The subjects in this study were 270 people selected by cluster sampling technique. The data collection tool in the form of a scale of religiosity consisting of 40 items arranged by the researcher and the scale of the Oxford happiness Questionnaire (OHQ) for happiness scale consisting of 29 items using the scale of previous research. The statistical analysis used in this study is the Pearson product moment correlation analysis showing a r value of 0.172 with a significance value of 0.008 (� <0.05). This shows that there is a significant relationship with the positive direction between religiosity and happiness in students of the Islamic University of Riau. That is, the higher the level of religiosity, the higher the level of happiness in the student.
