Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out the cause of death of puyu fish (Anabas testudineus) due to Saprolegnia sp fungus and its recovery. This research was conducted at Balai Benih Ikan (BBI) Faculty of Agriculture, Islamic University of Riau for 14 days. The material used in this study is quail with an average length average 10-15 cm as many as 75 tails (5 tails / container), the feed given is artificial feed, Saprolegnia sp fungus and Potassium Permanganate solution. The method used in this study is Random Design Complete (CRD) of one factor with 5 treatments and 3 replications namely P1 = 3 mg / L, P2 = 4 mg / L, P3 = 5 mg / L, P4 = 6 mg / L and P5 = 7 mg / L. Results research observation of immersion of Potassium Permanganate solution for recovery Saprolegnia sp fungi in quail showed that the concentration of 5 mg / L very effective for killing fungi and achieving 100% survival. Observations made on test fish are fungal infections Saprolegnia sp, puyu fish life and water quality parameters. Measuring water quality is the temperature in the range 25-29 0 C, pH ranges from 5-6, dissolved oxygen content ranged from 4, 50 - 5.70 ppm and ammonia ranged from 0.05 - 0.08 mg / L. This range is still within the tolerance limits of the puyu fish life. From the results of the Variance Analysis carried out on fish life puyu, obtained F count (7.08)> F table (3.48) at the level of 95% and 6.55 at level of 91%. This means that the administration of Potassium Permanganate solution with different doses give significantly different results for the survival of the puyu fish so that H0 in this study was rejected.
