Abstract

Indonesia is one of the largest natural rubber producing countries in the world other than Malaysia and Thailand. The advantage of the Indonesian state in increasing natural rubber production in the future, that there are still large enough tropical land suitable for planting natural rubber trees. Indonesia has a great opportunity to increase the export volume of its natural rubber commodity to the international market because it has several advantages such as the availability of abundant and cheap labor, as well as the availability of land and suitable agro-climate for the development of new natural rubber as well as increasing crop production and productivituy through efforts replanting of old plant. This study aims to analyze : (1) Indonesia’s Natural Rubber Domestic Price, World Natural Rubber Price, Rupiah Exchange Rate Againts Dollar, Japan’s GDP. (2). Analyzing the Factors Affecting Indonesian Natural Rubber Exports to Japan. This research was carried out in Indonesian from July to December 2021 which included proposal preparation, data collection, data tabulation, data analysis and report writing. The method used was the literature study method from the official publications of the institutions related to this research. The type of data source used in this study was time series data or 33 (thirty three) years ftom 1986-2019. Secondary data derived from several literature publications from existing institutions. During the 33-years period (1986-2019), the growth of Indonesia’s natural rubber exsports to Japan increased bt 11,53%, the growth of Indonesian natural rubber production increased bt in line with the increase in the growth of harvested area, the growth of Indonesia’s natural rubber domestic price. Over the past 33 years, there has been an increase of 35,42%, the growth of world natural rubber prices has increased 3,77%, the growth of the rupiah exchange rate against the dollar has strengthened by 12,32%, and the growth of Japan’s GDP has increased by 3,19%. In the long time term, the variables tha have a positive and significant effect on Indonesia’s natural rubber exports to Japan are the international price variable, the rupiah exchange rate variable against the dollar, and the Japanese GDP variable which significantly affects rubber exports, except for production and domestic price. In the short term, only the domestic price variable has a positive and significant effect on Indonesia’s natural rubber exports to Japan.
