Abstract

Guava Bangkok is a type of guava originating from Bangkok, Thailand. Perawang Barat Village is one of the villages in Tualang Subdistrict, some of which have Jambu Bangkok farming. This study aims to analyze: (1) Farmer Characteristics, (2) Cultivation techniques, (3) farm income and efficiency, (4) efficiency of marketing Guava Bangkok. This research was conducted in Perawang Barat Village, Tualang District, from August 2018 to January 2019. The method used in this study was the survey method. Sampling is done by simple random sampling. Data were analyzed by descriptive qualitative and quantitative. From the results of the study the characteristics of respondents with the average age of guava farmers were at productive age of 47 years, the education level of farmers was 11 years, 7 years of farming experience and the number of dependents of a family of 4. The average land area of ​​farmers is 0.20 ha. The number of seedlings is 98 stems, the average use of labor in the family is 41.40 HKP. The average use of fertilizers is 1500 kg, the average use of pesticides is 8.86 kg, the average use of scissors as much as 2.00 units, hoes as much as 2.00 units, machetes as much as 2.00 units and spayer of 1.12 units. the average farming cost is Rp.11,505,730. The average production is 3,663 kg per year, the average gross income is Rp.21,978,000, the average net income is Rp.10,861,709. Jambu farming is efficient with an RCR value of 1.91. Guava marketing institutions are farmers, traders, and retailers. Guava marketing channels have 2 channels. Collecting channel (I): average marketing costs of Rp.591.42 / kg, with Margins of Rp.4,000 / kg, and profits of Rp.3,408 / kg, farmer; s share of petuni is 40%, farmer's share the collector is 26.67% of the total marketing cost of the retailer (I) is Rp. 1,344.69 / kg, with a margin of Rp. 9,000 / kg, a profit of Rp. 7,448 / kg, and farmers share of 33.33% with a marketing efficiency of 8.96. Retailer channel (II): average marketing cost of Rp.925.82 / kg, marketing margin of Rp.4,000 / kg, profit of Rp.3,674 / kg, and farmers' share of retailers is 40% and marketing efficiency is 9, 25 so that it can be concluded that the channel is more efficient, namely channel I
