Abstract

This research was motivated by students’ critical thinking ability problem that was happened to some students at Islamic-Integrated Senior High School Fadhilah Pekanbaru. The purpose in this research examined to know how the level of Islamic education teacher’s cooperative learning method mastery at Islamic-integrated senior high school Fadhilah Pekanbaru, examined to know how the level of students’ critical thinking ability in Islamic education lesson and examined to know was there any influence of cooperative learning method on students’ critical thinking ability. This research used quantitative research with correlational approach. The subject in this research was all students at Islamic-integrated senior high school Fadhilah Pekanbaru, and the object in this research was cooperative learning method on students’ critical thinking ability at Islamic-integrated senior high school Fadhilah Pekanbaru. The population in this research took 170 students with sampling 119 students. Data collection technique used questionnaire and documentation. Based on data analysis, it was known that the level of teacher’s mastery in cooperative learning method in 0.8675 or 86.75% that was in very high category. It was known that the level of students’ critical thinking ability in 0.8681 or 86.81% that was in very high category. it was known that there was any influence of cooperative learning method on students’ critical thinking ability. It was showed from simple linear regression analysis result with significant score 0.000 was smaller than 0.05 and the hypothesis was accepted. The influence score of cooperative learning in 82.4% with very strong criteria. Meanwhile, 17.6% was influenced by others factors. It could be predicted that when cooperative learning method was applied, it could improve students’ critical thinking ability in 0.803 or 80.3%.
