Abstract

In the implementation of village government, the village head is the head of the village government who leads the administration of village government. The village head is in charge of administering village government, implementing development, community development, and community empowerment. Sungai Paku Village is one of the villages in Kampar Kiri District which has a tourist attraction, the attraction in tourism is one of the main assets that must be owned in an effort to increase village resources. The tourist attraction of the nail river dam has actually been around for a long time. In conducting this research, the researcher uses a descriptive survey type, with the type of qualitative research, qualitative research is methods to explore and understand the meaning that a number of individuals or groups of people ascribe to social or humanitarian problems. For sampling in determining the informants in this study, especially the village head and also the head of the tourism awareness group, the authors used the Saturated Sampling technique. The types and sources of data writers based on primary data and secondary data and data collection techniques that the authors use is observation and interviews. The results of this study are that the manager is less than optimal in taking advantage of opportunities to develop a tourist attraction for the Nail River dam.
