Abstract

This study aims to develop learning tools in the form of RPP and LAS which are efforts to attract students' interest in learning and are easy to understand the concepts of mathematics learning and produce learning devices that are tested for their feasibility (valid and practical). This research was conducted on May 12 to May 19, 2018. The subjects of this study were class VII.4 MTs Muhammadiyah 02 Pekanbaru 2017/2018 school year, which amounted to 34 students with heterogeneous abilities. The designed LAS consists of 3 meetings in number material. In this study follow the steps of R & D development research, namely potential and problems; data collection; product design; design validity; design revision; product testing; product revision; and the final product. Based on the results of the study, the calculation of the validator's assessment of the Learning Implementation Plan (RPP) obtained an average value of 83.95% with quite valid criteria. Whereas the LAS obtained an average value of 81.94% with quite valid criteria. The results of the teacher's response to the use of RPP obtained a value of 89.28% with very practical criteria. While the results of the teacher's response to the use of LAS scored 91.66% with very practical criteria. As well as the results of LAS practicality obtained from student response questionnaires of 89.65% with very practical criteria. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that this development research produces a guided discovery-based learning device in material numbers in class VII MTs which has been tested for its validity (valid and practical).
