Abstract

Subjective well-being is an individual evaluation or assessment of the life he lives including his affective and emotional, as well as an assessment of subjective well-being itself can affect a person's success in various areas of life, but what is happening now or what is the happiness of the teenager itself is actually comes from the assessment of others on their lives, there are various causes, including internet access, adolescent aspirations, and more specifically how the development of psychology and adolescent development. This study aims to determine the effect of the intensity of social media use on subjective well-being in adolescents in the city of Pekanbaru. The method used in this research is a quantitative method. The sampling technique used is non-probability sampling as many as 270 people. Data collection uses the Intensity of Social Media Use scale (purposive sampling) to measure the Intensity of Social Media Use and the PANAS-X Scale (The Expanded Version of Positive and Negative Affect Schedule). Hypothesis testing using Partial Least Square (PLS). The results showed that the Intensity of Social Media Use had a positive effect on Subjective Well-Being.
