Abstract

This research was motivated by the problem about lack of students? AlQur?an recitation ability, it was signed by lack of teacher?s active in developing Al-Qur?an recitation. Lack of Al-Qur?an recitation ability suitable with Al-Qur?an recitation regulation in pronunciation law, makhroj, rhythm and intonation. In fact, it was not as that because of teacher had been done Al-Qur?an recitation coaching. Furthermore, the purpose in this research examined to to answer how the role of Islamic education teacher in Al-Qur?an recitation development at Islamic senior high school As-Shofa Pekanbaru. This research was qualitative research with case study approach at Islamic senior high school As-Shofa Pekanbaru. It was done in 4 months started from April 2022 until July 2022. This research finding showed that the role of Islamic education teacher in Al-Qur?an recitation development at Islamic senior high school As-Shofa Pekanbaru as teacher and educator, that educate and teach pronunciation science, makhraj, letter, letter character, reading law, mad law, waqaf law, intonation, sound, and breathing. As a learning source, and facilitator, that provided every learning facility. As a role model and good example. As a motivator that improve students? motivation, and as a guide and evaluator that always give guidance and evaluation. In developing Al-Qur?an recitation at Islamic senior high school AsShofa, the obstacles was caused by the lateness of students, and some of them were have low recitation level in first basic, but the obstacles could be handled by Islamic education teacher with empowering teacher?s role in developing students to make them be able to dig and train their potential in Al-Qur?an recitation field, and they would get achievement suitable with Islamic senior high school As-Shofa?s Motto that was “the school of champion”.
