Abstract

This study aimed to describe the academic procrastination tendency toward students of class XI IPS at SMAN 1 Rengat. Academic procrastination is a delay carried out on formal tasks related to academic assignments. This study was quantitative descriptive. The subjects in this study were students of class XI IPS at SMAN 1 Rengat totaling 84 students. The tool used in this study is questionnaire with reference to the aspect of procrastination academic, i.e. the postponement instarting and finishing duty, the indolence in doing the duty, the gap time between the plan and the actual performance, and the of doing other activities which was considered more delightful. The scale of academic procrastination that has been calculated using the help of the SPSS version 22.0 for window program, obtained the calculation of the reliability of all instruments using the Cronbach Alpha coefficient formula of 0.967. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that academic procrastination conducted by students of class XI IPS in SMA N 1 Rengat is classified as medium. Of the 84 respondents there were 9 people classified as low (10.7%), 39 people classified as medium (46.4%), and 36 people classified as high (42.9%).
