Abstract
In this study conducted at SMA N 3 Tapung with the aim of knowing the importance of emotional intelligence in students as a factor to achieve learning outcomes. Research methods include the type of quantitative research. The sample in this study were students of Social Sciences majoring in 3 Tapung N Senior High Schools totaling 83 students. Data obtained from questionnaires. Whereas to analyze the data the researcher uses the SPSS statistical program, using SPSS, the results of data analysis indicate that there is an influence of emotional intelligence on student learning outcomes in student accounting subjects of 0.636 (R) with R Square 0.405 which is defined by the formula KD = r² x 100% (KD = 0.405 x 100%) to 40.5%, while 59.5% is influenced by other factors outside the variables studied such as motivation to learn, student interest in learning, student learning activities, student learning styles and spiritual intelligence students.
