Abstract
This research is motivated by the rise of young mothers present in the Instagram room and the photos displayed are not in the activities of a mother, the theory used in this study is symbolic interaction with Alfred Schutz's phenomenology approach, the method used in this study was qualitative with seven main informants and seven society informants as supporters. Data collected through the process of observation, interviews, and documentation analyzed through the phenomenology of Alfred Schutz, the results of this study are based on mind, self and society, there are several motives associated with because motives that are related to the mind, namely the motives of hobbies, mobile phones, entertainment. related with self-motivation and existence and from society motives also influence the decision of young mothers to do selfies this is proof of others and is related to in order to motive relating to society where there are motives of likes and praise which is a form of support from the society for young mothers who do selfies on Instagram
