Abstract
Speech is an individual who experiences a disorder or obstacle in verbal communication so that he has difficulty communicating this can be caused by lackor malfunctioning of speech education, children have limitations in speaking orverbal communication, therefore children with disabilities can only communicate with sign language or nonverbal communication. In the literature review thisstudy uses non-verbal communication, this model underlines that communication uses nonverbal messages. Nonverbal is usually used to describe all communication events outside of spoken and written words. This research wasconducted at Pekanbaru Pelita Hati Pekanbaru SLB, to achieve the objectives desired by the author, this study was conducted using a qualitative desktiptifmethod, this was intended to describe and provide a clear picture of nonverbalcommunication of children with disabilitles to the teaching and learning processin Pelita Hati SLB pekanbaru heart , while the data collection techniques used are through research observations carried out directly in the fleld by conductinginterviews directly with informatis who are consldered capable of providing explanations about the research and documenting what is needed by the researcher. From the data obtalned, researchers get a lot of kinds of nonverbal communication in the teaching and leaning process of speaking students in pelita hati pekanbaru SLB it is expected that the teacher must better understand the character of the child so that the teacher knows how to effectively teach sign language so that the speechless child understands more what is taught by the teacher at school.
