Abstract
The background of this research is that present the waqf issue is one of the important studies discussed such as the issue of zakat, infaq, shadaqoh. Waqf can be one of the pillars of Islamic Economics. Awakening has an important role in improving the economy. Imam Abu Hanifah, and his followers belong to the Hanafiyah school study about waqf. However, the potential of the waqf has not been fully explored and developed. Awakening from the time of the Prophet Muhammad until now has experienced significant development. Basically, the author is interested in studying cash waqf according to the Hanafiyah school of classical and contemporary ulama. The type of research is library research (library research) using data derived from library sources both from books, encyclopedias, journals, magazines and others. Data analysis used in this study is documentation, namely by reviewing good literature of books, articles, magazines which relevance to the object of the research. The results of this study indicate that productive waqf is waqf allowed as endowments immovable namely land waqf. And movable waqf is gold, and silver. As for classical ulama divide cash waqf into mosques, education, boarding schools, graves and contemporary ulama divide cash waqf into mosques, boarding school, surau, and schools.
