Abstract

An Analysis of Prospective Teachers Barriers in Kampus Mengajar Program at English Language Education of Universitas Islam Riau Barriers are challenges faced by the prospective teachers in learning a foreign language. Prospective teachers face various problems during teaching and learning, such as a lack of knowledge about class procedures and how to make appropriate learning plans. This research aimed to determine the barriers that prospective teachers faced during the Kampus mengajar program at English language education of Universitas Islam Riau. The methodology of this research was qualitative research. The researcher used printed and online questionnaires. The participants of this research consist of 27 students of three generations of the Kampus mengajar program. After collecting the data, it is analyzed using scale assessment. The result of indicator procedural is 51%, with the interpretation interval Somewhat of a Barrier. An indicator of managerial with the average of 60% and the interval is Somewhat of a Barriers. Then the indicator of psychological is 65% with the high position of the interval, Somewhat of a Barriers. Then the indicator of instructional with the average 53% with the interval Somewhat of a Barriers. Furthermore, in indicator of professional is 50%, with the interval Somewhat of a Barriers. And last is indicator of political with the low position of interval, Not a Barrier, with an average of 42%. The result of the research revealed that students face some barriers during the kampus mengajar program as prospective teacher for most indicators stated by bartell.
