Abstract
The objectives of this research was to find out how are students visual literacy of english students at second semester of fkip uir, pekanbaru. This research focuses on how are students visual literacy of second semester class 2A and 2B in fkip uir. This research design of this study was a case study. There are two classes that were being sample that was consisted of 74 students which were 35 students of Class A and 39 students of Class B. The instrument of this research was open questionnaire of visual literacy indicators. In this research visual literacy indicators consisted five components; visual perception, visual language, visual thinking, visual learning and visual communication. Students visual literacy can be seen by the indicators of visual literacy by find out from students answer on the questionnaire. The researcher analyzed the data that find out that were 47 students of 74 students that answer the question in visual peception, 51 of students answer the questions in visual language, 42 students answer the questions in visual thinking, 39 students answer the questions in visual learning, and 39 students answer the questions in visual communication. Most of students who answer in that questions it seems like they understand and have their opinion about learning in visual literacy.
