Abstract
Listening comprehension is the ability to receive the messages sent by speaker. Yet it is not always easy to decipher these these messages and contruct meaning. These are factors that should be taken into account in listening comprehension. These factors enable listening materials become comprehensible for the learners. This study has tried to explore the factors which affect listening comprehension of learners. This study has mainly focused on factors which affect listening comprehension of students' English Language Education FKIP UIR. The study has listed 5 factors in terms of their significance and provided some useful strategies to improve listening comprehension.The data were collected by using questionnaire. There are 5 kinds indicators of factors that affect in listening comprehension. In each indicators, students are given 5 indicators of factors that affect in listening comprehension, there are related to the text, speaker, listener, physical condition and task. Therefore, the number of all the question were 34 items in the form of never, sometimes, often, always question. The data which were collected from this instrument would be used to know factors that affect students' listening comprehension of the third semester at English Language Education FKIP UIR. After collecting and studying the data, the writer found that the factors that affect students' listening comprehension is a listener. So, almost the students faced difficulty in listening comprehension caused by listener itself.
