Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of employee work performance on promotion. This research was conducted at PT. Mandiri Direction Media located at Jl. Tuanku Tambusai No.17 Pekanbaru .. After the research data was collected, it was then analyzed descriptively and to find out the work performance of employees towards job promotion, quantitative analysis was used, namely using SPSS version 17. The number of population and a sample of 43 people who were employees of PT. Mandiri Direction Media. The sampling technique used by researchers is using a total sampling or census technique. The research variables consisted of employee work performance (X) as an independent variable, and job promotion (Y) as the dependent variable. The results of the research that have been conducted show that partially employee work performance has a significant effect on job promotion at PT. Mandiri Direction Media. Based on R Square, the value is 0.671. This shows that 0.671 X 100 = 67.1% employee work performance has a positive effect on job promotion and while the remaining 32.9% is explained by other variables not included in the model.
