Abstract

The purpose in this research examined to know: 1) Implementation talking stick method in Islamic education lesson at vocational high school PGRI Pekanbaru city. 2) Students’ learning interest in learning Islamic education lesson at vocational high school PGRI Pekanbaru city. 3) The influence of talking stick method on students’ learning interest in Islamic education lesson at vocational high school PGRI Pekanbaru city. This research was a quasi-experimental research that was done in one meeting. The subject in this research was students class XI at vocational high school PGRI Pekanbaru city. Meanwhile, the object in this research was the influence of talking stick method on students’ learning interest in Islamic education lesson at vocational high school PGRI Pekanbaru city. Data collection technique used questionnaire and documentation. Data analysis technique used quantitative data analysis with inferential statistical approach with hypothesis testing by using t test. Research finding showed that: 1) Talking stick method implementation in Islamic education lesson at vocational high school PGRI Pekanbaru city was in run well in experimental class or control class. 2) Learning interest level in Islamic education lesson at vocational high school PGRI Pekanbaru city. The difference of learning interest level could be seen from the questionnaire score average that was got in experimental class before giving treatment in 66.18 and after giving treatment in 73.27. Meanwhile in control class, it got average score before giving treatment in 66.14 and after giving treatment in 66.32. 3) There was any influence of talking stick on students’ learning interest in Islamic education lesson at vocational high school Pekanbaru city. From paired sample test result, it got score sig = 0.000 < 0.5 in experimental class, and the result showed that Ha was accepted. It meant that there was any significant influence between questionnaire result in pre-test and postest learning interest experimental class that was used talking stick method.
