Abstract

The Oil Treatment process to overcome Emulsion problems in the RP field is carried out at the Central Gathering Station x Gathering Station. One of the problems that arises is the formation of an emulsion between oil and water in the Wash Tank at a level of 20-21 feet. Emulsion formation in crude oil is very undesirable because it can cause other problems. High emulsion levels will cause low oil quality. In order to obtain good quality oil, it is necessary to select a suitable chemical by conducting laboratory research using the Demulsifier Treatment. The use of Demulsifier in separating Emulsion is an important step in processing facilities. The Demulsifier assessment was carried out using the test method, namely the Bottle Test method. The stages in this study were in the form of a sample preparation process, Bottle Test and Basic Sediment and Water. In accordance with government regulations, the value for Basic Sediment and Water content for oil to be managed in the field is <1 % . This study used Product Demulsifier MAI04R and RP2006 for sample testing with doses of 200, 300, 400 and 500 ppm at temperatures of 140F and 160F with a testing time of 8 hours which was observed every 1 hour. The results obtained from the research showed that the highest WaterDrop value was found in the RP2006 sample with a dose of 200ppm and a temperature of 160F, as well as the Basic Sediment And Water value which was obtained <1% when injecting the RP2006 sample with a dose of 200ppm.
