Abstract

This research is motivated by the learning method for elementary school students who are still using the lecture method and it is boring for students to follow the teaching and learning process. The problem studied in this study is how to apply the ice breaking technique to learning in elementary schools. The purpose of this study was to determine the application of ice breaking techniques in thematic learning of students in elementary schools. The method used is descriptive method. The approach used in this study is a qualitative approach. This type of research is field research. Data collection techniques in this study used observation techniques, interview techniques and documentation techniques. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the application of ice breaking techniques in thematic learning can make learning situations fun and can make students easy to understand the material given by the teacher.
