Abstract

Rigid Pavement is a pavement construction with aggregate as raw material and uses cement as a binding material, so it has a relatively high rigidity, especially when compared to asphalt pavement (Flexible Pavement). The purpose of this study was to determine the value of the comparison of the compressive strength of coring concrete in the field with the results of sample tests in the laboratory and to find out the magnitude of the reduction and estimate the cause. The compressive strength of the concrete in the structure can be determined by testing the core concrete taken from the structure as an indication of the estimated compressive strength of the concrete in the structure that has been implemented. Testing the compressive strength of core concrete is one of the destructive test. In this research, the design concrete quality is fc'36 Mpa and the design flexural strength is fs 4.5 Mpa. Cylindrical specimens were taken from a representative concrete sample from the field following the procedure according to SNI 2492-2018 and correlated with the formula f s = K fc' according to the Technical Guidelines (PdT-14-2003) concerning Cement Concrete Road Pavement Planning. For concrete with a strength of fs 4.5 MPa, the flexural strength test as a requirement for acceptance of the work so that the flexural strength of concrete against the compressive strength of concrete must be defined based on the correlation of the planned flexural strength and compressive strength. With the approach and analysis of the flexural strength of the core concrete compressive strength at the age of 28 days. The results of the data analysis in this study, the correlation value of the flexural strength of concrete with the compressive strength of concrete is very strong where the K value is between 0.582 to 0.894 with an average value of 0.687 . However, this overall illustrates that the coring results can estimate the true strength of the structural elements in in situ conditions.
