Abstract

Counseling Learning Method was an innovation method that referred to guidance and counseling process to motivate students in speaking Arabic. The purpose in this research examined to know the influence of counseling learning method on students’ motivation to speak Arabic at Islamic boarding school Bahrul ‘Ulum Al-Islamy Pantai Raja. This research was quantitative research with ex post facto method. The sample was 99 students at Islamic junior high school. Data analysis result used simple linear regression with significant score 0.908 > 0.05 and H0 was accepted, there was no significant influence on students’’ motivation to speak Arabic at Islamic boarding school Bahrul ‘Ulum Al-Islamy Pantai Raja. The influenced counseling learning method classified into very low, it could be seen from correlation coefficient score (R ) in 0.012. It could be concluded that students’ motivation to speak Arabic at Islamic boarding school Bahrul “ulum Al-Islamy Pantai Raja influenced more from others factors that was dream/aspiration, learning ability, students’ condition, environment condition and dynamic aspects in learning.
