Abstract

Provision of consumer protection to customers or the wider community must be given seriously and firmly regardless of the status of the community. The definition of consumer protection in Article 1 point 1 of Law Number 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection emphasizes "all efforts that guarantee legal certainty to provide protection to consumers." The consumer protection guaranteed by this law is the existence of legal certainty for all acquisitions of consumer needs. Legal certainty has the power to empower consumers to defend or defend their rights if they are harmed by business actors. With the existence of legal protection regulations for consumers, it is hoped that legal certainty, balance and justice will be realized for legal protection for consumers from an action that harms them. Based on the background of the problems that the authors describe above, the formulation of the problem in this study is How is the Legal Protection of Customers for PT. Telkom Indihome Based on Law Number 8 of 1999 Concerning Consumer Protection? and What Are the Obstacles or Obstacles in Legal Protection Against Customers for PT. Telkom Indihome Based on Law Number 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection? This writing, when viewed from the type of research, uses a sociological legal research method, namely by means of a survey, in which the author goes directly to the research location to obtain the necessary data by using data collection tools in the form of interviews and questionnaires. The nature of this research is descriptive which means this research provides a clear picture. Implementation of Legal Protection Against PT. Telkomsel for Indihome Products with Customers Based on Law Number 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection, including obtaining a guarantee of IndiHome Service Level Guarantee (SLG) service levels in accordance with Telkom's provisions. In terms of service quality, use or service fees, compensation and other matters. Customers who are harmed by the negligence of telecommunications operators in running their business can file claims in accordance with UUPK which regulates the rights and obligations of consumers and business actors. Obstacles or Obstacles in the Implementation of Legal Protection Against PT. Telkomsel for Indihome Products with Customers Based on Law Number 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection due to unstable networks, administrative problems or total payments experienced by customers that are not in accordance with the provisions, damage handling that is not quickly responded to by technicians from service providers namely PT. Telkom and customers who are late paying and in arrears.
