Abstract

The waste problem is indeed a very complicated problem for each region or areas that are developing, especially in urban areas, it all starts with more and more Significant population growth in medium-sized urban areas continues to develop quickly into a big city, even more garbage It's complicated because people's awareness is less aware of protecting it cleanliness in the surrounding environment. Currently, almost all waste management ends up in the final disposal site (TPA), so the landfill load becomes very large heavy, in addition to the required large enough land is also required facilities very expensive maintenance. the more the amount of waste that must be disposed of to one of them because efforts have not been made reduction in the volume of solid waste since from the source. Besides that, the waste management facilities and infrastructure are not sufficient so as to cause less optimal work of waste management in this case the city's cleaning, planting and burial service (DKPP). Pekanbaru. Because for the entire city of Pekanbaru there is only one place waste management, namely at the final disposal site of Muara Fajar. The main problem of this research is how is it implemented Waste Management in Pekanbaru City Based on City Regional Regulations Pekanbaru No. 8 of 2014 concerning Waste Management and What are the factors obstacles to the Implementation of Waste Management in Pekanbaru City Based on Pekanbaru City Regional Regulation Number 8 of 2014 concerning Waste management The research method used in this research is by using observational research, with data collection techniques namely by interview. The results of the discussion from this study are waste management in the city Pekanbaru based on local regulation no 02 of 2008 concerning management waste is not running optimally because of the management mechanism waste used in waste management does not work because So far, waste is only disposed of and burned to the final disposal site causing dumping of waste in landfills and factors the obstacle in the implementation of Pekanbaru City Directorate of Waste Management is Population growth and changes in consumption patterns have resulted increase in volume, type and characteristics of waste, and with amount residents who have a lot of waste management are not yet maximal even though they are only supported by three permanent tps and one tpa unit, and a number of heavy traffic.
