Abstract

Construction activities are growing rapidly along with the development of technology and public demand, in construction activities there are many jobs that pose risks to occupational health and safety and have a negative impact on the environment. For this reason, construction activities must implement occupational health and safety and environmental monitoring. This study aims to identify the hazards and risks of driving work, determine the risk level assessment, and risk control in driving work using a diesel hammer, as well as knowing the environmental impact of driving using a diesel hammer. This research method uses Hazard Identification Risk Assessment and Risk Control (HIRARC) for occupational safety and health analysis, while for the environmental impact due to noise using SNI 8427:2017. The results of this study obtained 17 hazard variables in pilling work, with 9 hazard variables of medium risk and 8 hazard variables of low risk, risk control was carried out by means of engineering, administrative and use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and giving insurance coverage. The environmental impact due to pilling work is the level of noise generated that exceeds the noise quality standard by 11% so that it can cause environmental disturbances.Noise that exceeds 55 dBA will cause psychological disturbances, namely people feel uncomfortable and easily emotional, and communication disorders, namely people must speak at a loud enough volume and interfere with hearing such as voice becomes unclear or vague in the community who live near the piling area.
