Abstract
This study examines the implementation of the duties of the transportation department due to the increasing number of support services in Pekanbaru City. With the formulation of the problem, namely how to carry out tasks in order and control in the city of Pekanbaru and how the efforts taken by the Department of Transportation for the increasing number of volunteer traffic controllers. Based on the above background, this study aims to determine the implementation of the tasks of the Department of Transportation in controlling and controlling volunteer traffic controllers in Pekanbaru City and to determine the efforts of the Department of Transportation in controlling and controlling volunteer traffic controllers. This research method is a qualitative method, while the research method uses descriptive research by prioritizing observation, interviews and comments as a data collection tool. This study uses the theory of management functions of George R. Terry assessed from the indicators of planning, organizing, implementing, controlling. The results of the study indicate that the Department of Transportation has made efforts so that there are no more support services in the city of Pekanbaru, but the factor from the community who often gives money to these services has led to the increasing number of support services in the city of Pekanbaru. In this case, the author concludes that the implementation of the duties of the Department of Transportation has not been going well. However, the Department of Transportation should evaluate and formulate related to support services.
