Abstract

The Influence of the Implementation of PQ4R Learning Strategies (Preview, Question, Read, Reflect, Recite, Review) on Learning Outcomes of Natural Sciences in Class VIII Students at SMP Negeri 1 Siak Hulu Riau Province OKTORIA Uliana S NPM.186510743 Thesis of Biology Education Study Program Fkip Islamic University Riau Supervisor : Dra. Suryanti, M. Si ABSTRACT This study aims to determine the effect of the PQ4R Strategy (Preview, Question, Read, Reflect, Recite, Review) on the science learning outcomes of Class VIII students at SMP N 1 Siak Hulu, Riau Province. methodology with experimental. The research population was class VIII students with a total of 102 students with class VIIIH as the experimental class and VIII as the control class. The technique of collecting data in this research is the technique of test and observation. The results of the data (1) The average in the experimental class where the pretest is 64.54% in the less category. The average cognitive value is 79.67% with sufficient category and the posttest average 76.60% with sufficient category. (2) The average in the control class where the pretest is 64.42% with less category. The average of cognitive value is 79.05% with sufficient category and the average posttest absorption is 79.28% with sufficient category. it was found that the data was not homogeneous, so it was continued with the t-test. From the t-test data obtained Tcount > Ttable or 28.72 > 1.66827 so that H1 is accepted and H0 is rejected. So it can be concluded that there is an effect of implementing the PQ4R learning strategy (Preview, Question, Read, Reflect, Recite, Review) on learning outcomes of Natural Sciences (IPA) in class VIII students at SMP Negeri 1 Siak Hulu, Riau Province.
