Abstract

The problem in this study is the low student achievement of Islamic Religious Education study program students at the Islamic University of Riau batch 2019. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between interest in reading books on student achievement in the Islamic Education Study Program, Islamic University of Riau, Class of 2019. Types of research used is correlation research (causal correlation). The population in the study was all students of the Islamic Religious Education Study Program, Riau Islamic University Class of 2019, totaling 202 people. The sampling technique in this study used the proportional sampling method. This means that respondents (subjects) are chosen intentionally with certain characteristics that are believed to be representative of the research population. Determination of the number of samples in this study using the Slovin formula.So that the sample in this study amounted to 134 people.Collecting data in this study using questionnaires and documentation. With the explanation that questionnaires and documentation were used to obtain data about interest in reading and student achievement. The results of this study indicate that there is a very strong influence between interest in reading books on student achievement in the Islamic Education Study Program at the Islamic University of Riau Batch 2019 which is 0.839 or 83.9%, and the remaining 16.1% is influenced by other factors were not included in this study.
