Abstract

This research was motivated by lack of students’ learning achievement in Islamic education lesson. The problem focused on was there any influence of learning interest on students’ learning achievement in Islamic education lesson at junior high school 6 Kandis Siak regency. The purpose in this research examined to know the influence of learning interest on students’ learning achievement in Islamic education lesson at junior high school 6 Kandis Siak regency. This research was correlational quantitative research. The subject used all class VII students at junior high school 6 Kandis in 87 students. This research consisted of two variables where learning interest (variable X) and learning achievement (variable Y). The mastery level of learning interest at junior high school 6 Kandis Siak regency could be seen from respondent result in 79.11% with high category. Learning achievement at junior high school 6 Kandis Siak regency was in high category. Research finding showed that there was any influence of learning interest on students’ learning achievement in Islamic education lesson. It could be seen from data computation result by SPSS statistic 22 for windows that simple regression analysis that was got from significant score smaller than 0.05 that was 0.000 < 0.05. The hypothesis that was stated there was any influence of learning interest on students learning achievement in Islamic education lesson at junior high school 6 Kandis Siak regency was accepted. The influence score of learning interest (variable X) had contribution in 75.3% on learning achievement (variable Y). Meanwhile, the others learning achievement was influenced by others variables. It meant that the influence of learning interest on students’ learning achievement in Islamic education lesson at junior high school 6 Kandis Siak regency was in �strong� category.
