Abstract

Some people choose to cultivate yellow melons instead of green fruit melon varieties. This is because the market interest is greater and the selling price of yellow melons is 2 times more expensive than the price of green melons, so it is not surprising that farmers prefer to do business in cultivating yellow melons to bring in big profits every month. . The purpose of this study was to determine the interaction effect and the main effect of applying vermicompost fertilizer and Gandasil B on the growth and production of melon plants. This research has been carried out by farmers' gardens / fields on Airingin Ujung Street, Bukit Raya Village, Pekanbaru City, Riau Province, for 3 months from November 2018 to January 2019. consists of 4 levels, namely: 0, 0.5, 0.75, 1 kg / plot and the second factor Gandasil B which consists of 4 levels, namely: 0, 2, 4, 6 g / Lair / plot. The parameters used in this study were flowering age, harvest age, fruit circumference and plant weight. The observations were statistically analyzed and followed by an honest real difference test (BNJ) at the 5% level. The results of the study were not significant for the interaction effect of vermicompost fertilizer and Gandasil B on first flowering, harvesting age, fruit weight, and fruit circumference. The main effect of vermicompost fertilizer had significant effect on age at first flowering, harvest age, fruit weight, and fruit circumference, with the best treatment of vermicompost fertilizer 1 kg / plot. The main effect of Gandasil B had a significant effect on the age of first flowering, and the circumference of the fruit with the best treatment G3 concentration of 6 g / L. water / plot.
