Abstract

This research was motivated by the problem about lack of students learning interest. Learning interest was an encouragement that was had by students in learning lesson and the characteristic of high learning interest that was, feeling happy in learning, involvement in learning, interest in learning and students attention in learning. Based on the problem, researcher made this research entitled about the influence of Islamic education teacher’s personality competency on students’ learning interest at junior high school PGRI Pekanbaru. The research formulation in this research questioned was there any influence of Islamic education teacher’s personality competency on students’ learning interest at junior high school PGRI Pekanbaru? The purpose in this research examined to know the influence of Islamic education teacher’s personality competency on students’ learning interest at junior high school PGRI Pekanbaru. This research was correlation research. The subject was class VII and VIII students at junior high school PGRI Pekanbaru and the object was the influence of Islamic education teacher’s personality competency on students’ learning interest at junior high school PGRI Pekanbaru. The population was all class VII and VIII students in 93 students and it was directly as sample. Data collection technique used questionnaire and documentation. Based on data analysis that was done, it was known that there was any influence of Islamic education teacher’s personality competency on students’ learning interest at junior high school PGRI Pekanbaru. It was same as simple linear regression analysis that was got from significant score smaller than 0.05 where 0.040 > 0.05, and the hypothesis was accepted. The level influence of Islamic education teacher’s personality competency on students’ learning interest at junior high school PGRI Pekanbaru could be seen from probability score of Pearson product moment in 0.045 in range 0.00 – 0.199. it meant that the influence of Islamic education teacher’s personality competency on students’ learning interest at junior high school PGRI Pekanbaruin very low category.
