Abstract

This study aims to investigate the customer interest in saving money in BMT Al-Hijrah in Pekanbaru City. The subject of the study is the customers who save money in BMT Al-Hijrah in Pekanbaru City and the object of the study is the factors that influence customer interest in saving money in BMT Al-Hijrah in Pekanbaru City. The population of the study is all customers of BMT Al-Hijrah with a total of 417 customers. The sample of 81 customers is taken by using the Morgan formula. The data sourcers of the study are primary data and secondary data. The data analysis method of the study is descriptive method. The data analysis techniques of the study are questionnaires and documentation. The results of the study show that the cultural factors influence the interest, it can be proven from the value of t-score is higher that t-table (3.121 > 1.98525), the social factors influence the interest, it can be proven from the value of t-score is higher than t-table (2.779 > 1.98525), and the personal factors influence the interest, it can be proven from the value of t-score is higher that t-table (4.339 > 1.98525). Furthermore, the coefficient of determination (R square) is 0.671. It means that the influence of independent variables (culture, personal social, psychology) on the dependent variable (interest) is 67.1%, while the remaining 32.9% is influenced by other variables not examined in this study.
